- Company Viand was established in 1992. In 1993 the family company became a joint-venture partner with the multinational company Provimi, based in the Netherlands, which is the world market leader for animal, poultry, and fish feed.
- In 1995 Viand launched the first of several projects for the construction of feed plants in different parts of Bulgaria. In 1998 the company acquired a feed plant, located in Vrana, close to Bulgaria's capital, Sofia. In the following years, the production facility was updated and the process was automated, reaching a capacity of 5 tons per hour. Furthermore, the company expanded its storage and distribution network in western Bulgaria. Currently, it offers over 60 kinds of animal and bird feed. The capacity of the plant is 5 tons per hour.
- By the year 2000, the Company increased the number of its production sites to seven. During this period Viand continued to expand its trading activities and production capacity to become a market leader in compound animal, poultry and fish feed sector. Currently it holds the number one position on the feed market in Bulgaria and Romania and is an active player in a number of other countries.
- In 2010 the Bulgarian shareholders repurchased Provimi's shares in the company.
- In 2011 Viand built state-of-the-art feed plant near the town of Ruse, catering to the needs of industrial farms in southern Romania. The same year the annual turnover of the company reached the benchmark figure of BGN 100 million (EUR 50 million).
- In 2013 Viand completed a new factory in Sitovo village near the town of Silistra (on the river Danube, at the Bulgarian-Romanian border). Reaching a capacity of 100 000 tons per year, the plant was built to meet the rising demand for ruminant feed.
- Today the company operates five feed plants with total production capacity exceeding 400,000 tons. It owns silo storage facilities with a capacity of 50,000 tons. Further, Viand has over 160 employees nationally and internationally.
